Albany -- Lady Rams forward Aldrany Peak has been named the SIAC player of the week.
It's the second time the sophomore has earned the honor this month, something Albany State head coach Robert Skinner says is a first in his tenure.
Peak averaged a double-double in wins over Lane and Kentucky State, with better than sixteen points and eleven rebounds a game.
The sophomore says despite the individual attention, this is a team award, and says she thinks it's her rebounding numbers attracting notice.
"I think we've been playing very well of both the offensive and defensive end. By us being great on both offense and defense, it's given me a chance to rebound and do what I'm great at."
Lady Rams coach Robert Skinner says, "I'm sure it's the rebounding more so than the scoring, and also the defense, and the steals, and areas other than scoring, even though she's been scoring pretty good each and every night. She's been playing exceptionally well on the boards. She's been giving us offensive boards, as well as defensive boards. I haven't been able to thank her enough for what she's done over the past eight ballgames."
Albany State hosts Lemoyne-Owen Tuesday night at 6pm.
