Albany - It's official: Country music super star George Jones is coming to the Albany Civic Center Thursday March 30th.

Concert promoter Mike Blackwell is bringing the show to town, and he hopes that a big turnout will encourage more big name acts like George Jones to book shows in the Albany Civic Center.

Blackwell says Albany's smaller market size makes it difficult to compete for big names, but he says he will make efforts to bring future shows. "We will see how George does, and if the people are supportive and want some shows here were gonna try hard to get some more shows."

Tickets to see George Jones go on sale February eleventh at 10:00AM. Ticket Prices are $32.50 and $42.50, with the show starting at 7:00PM March 30th.

Civic Center officials also say a major hip-hop act will soon be announced.
