Thomasville, Georgia-- The Red Cross is helping a young couple in Thomasville recover from a house fire.
Judson and Sylvia Simmons' mobile home on Highway 84 west was destroyed early Sunday morning. They lost everything, and Sylvia is pregnant.
Thomas County Fire Chief, Chris Jones, says crews could tell the home was a total loss as soon as they arrived. "One portion of the house was pretty much heavily involved in flames, and had already been destroyed, and then they made their initial attack inside. It was out in just a matter of minutes," says Jones.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fortunately, the Simmons' weren't home when it started, and nobody was hurt fighting it.
