Albany -- A top agricultural researcher says farming and food consumers will see many improvements in the next decade.
Dr. John Baldwin was given the Distinguished Service Award by the Georgia Peanut Commission Thursday morning. Baldwin has been a leader in Georgia peanut research and farmer education for 18 years.
He says peanut farming has changed drastically in the last decade, and he expects more big changes in the future. Baldwin said "We're moving into new areas now, particularly in the nutrition area, which are going to be just phenomenal for what they are going to do for our nutrition in this country."
Baldwin said farmers have learned to appreciate University sponsored research, because it helps them grow a better crop and make more money.
