Albany - Albany State football coach Mike White continues to collect well deserved coaching awards.
White and defensive end Alton Pettway will be in Washington, D.c. Friday night for the Pigskin Club of Washington, D.C. annual awards dinner.
The Pigskin Club will present its Charles Fisher Award to White for a third year in a row as the coach of the year in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
White led the Rams to a third straight SIAC title despite starting the season with just four starters.
Alton Pettway will receive the Oliver Thompson SIAC player of the year award.
The defensive end from Bay Minette led the conference with nine quarterback sacks and 17 of his 58 tackles were in the other team's backfield.
