Valdosta - The Valdosta State Lady Blazers had to be a little disappointed when they saw the first Division II south regional rankings.
Those rankings determine who gets invited to the NCAA D-II tournament where last year the Lady Blazers lost in the south regional semifinals.
The VSU women, who are 9-4 and 3-1 in the Gulf South Conference, are ranked 10th in the first D-II south region poll.
Only eight teams will qualify for regional play.
Fortunately for the Lady Blazers, the NCAA D-II tournament is still two months away.
So, the VSU women have plenty of time to win their way up the regional rankings starting Saturday afternoon when the Lady Blazers host West Alabama.
