Americus - New Darton College softball coach Blake Miller has only been on the job for a couple of months.
But it has not taken him long to find success on the recruiting trail.
The Lady Cavalier softball team picking up their first signee of the year in Southland pitcher Alex Riccardi.
Riccardi has been a four year starter for the Lady Raiders where she was a three time all-region peformer and set four school records.
Last fall, Alex Riccardi had 94 strikeouts in 88 innings and an earned run average of 1.67.
Alex though did not really get serious about fast pitch softball until the 8th grade and she believes she will get even better working with Darton assistant coach Renee Hietbrink.
Alex Riccardi said "Alot of other girls had a head start on me. I still feel like there is alot potential that I haven't met yet. I have had some success but I think I can have more."
Darton softballcoach Blake Miller unable to attend Tuesday's signing.
He is in Orlando this week for mandatory practice sessions with the USA national fast-pitch softball team.
