Broadcasters show legislative workings

January 13, 2006

Atlanta -- The Georgia Association of Broadcasters now has a legislative news service that keeps you up to speed on what your representatives are doing.

On the 4th floor of the capitol building, the GAB has a set, a camera and a videographer and legislators are given the opportunity to record messages for their constituents.

"The Georgia Association of Broadcasters sends the messages, on a feed, to all the stations in the state of Georgia," said GAB Government Relations Director Pat Chivers. "And they can have an opportunity to share their issues, share what bills are important to them."

The GAB has more than 400 radio and television station members in Georgia. This is the second year they've provided the legslative news service.
