21-year-old man dies from stabbing

January 7, 2005

Warwick-- A man is killed outside a South Georgia housing complex.

Investigations are being conducted by the Warwick Police Department, Worth County Sheriff’s Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Worth County Corner's Office, and the District Attorney's Office.

Warwick Police aren't releasing much information at this time. We do know that they responded to the Magnolia Place Apartments on Providence Circle after 6 p.m Friday night. There they found 21-year-old Willie James Bryant, Jr. lying on the ground from a stab wound. He was taken to an area hospital but the victim's father says he died before he arrived.

Willie James Bryant, Sr. says his son didn't live at Magnolia Place Apartments and the stabbing may have occurred during a fight over a girl.

"They tell me the boys have been having little runs in throughout the week, fighting and everything like that and they tell me a girl was involved in it and I don't even know how it happened myself," says Bryant.

Bryant says his son was stabbed in or near the heart area. The stabbing is still under investigation. Police won't say if any arrests have been made.
