Albany- Shallena Scott gave birth to her daughter Tanaisha at 12:29 AM, January 1st.

The four pound, 15 ounce baby girl is the forth child and first girl for the Albany mother. Scott says there was a little bit of a competition among hospital staff because two other mothers were also in labor New Year's Eve.

"I really wasn't concerned about that. I just wanted her to be healthy and to get the whole labor process over with. But I'm glad everything is turning out okay," says Scott.

Other than being born premature, baby Tanaisha is healthy and is expected to go home in about a week.
