New Year's Holiday Weekend starts out quietly

Albany- The New Year's holiday weekend is in full swing, with most party goers expected to hit the streets Saturday night.

For the weekend, the Georgia State patrol was predicting 1,794 crashes, 780 injuries, and 15 fatalities this holiday weekend. As of noon Saturday, troopers reported 448 crashes, 113 injuries, and two fatalities.

The holiday weekend strength patrols end at midnight Monday, January 2, 2006.
