Tifton- We now know the name of the Tift County employee who was killed in Wednesday night's train collision.

Troopers say 62 year old Vernon Nagles, of Chula, was driving his motor grader across the railroad tracks on Rigdon-Aultman Road when the vehicle was struck by a Norfolk-Southern train.

There are no lights or cross bars at the intersection but witnesses say the conductor did blow his whistle prior to reaching the crossing.

Funeral services for Nagles were held Friday afternoon.
