Dougherty County -- Dougherty County Police are asking for your help to solve a rash of air conditioner and heater thefts over the last month.
The vacant building at the Liberty Expressway and Nelms Road was the latest crime scene. Thieves took four full-size heating and air conditioning units from around the building. The units are valued at eight thousand dollars.
The St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church on Swift Street reported four air conditioning units have been stolen in the last month.
Last month Albany Housing Center on Sylvester Road reported many of the air conditioning units were stolen from their homes.
Investigators say they have not found where the thieves are selling the units. Dougherty County Police Lt. Stephen Mitchum said "Sometimes they do end up in the different salvage yards. But we haven't been able to determine that these units ended up there. We're just looking for any information that anyone might have."
Lt. Mitchum says the thieves like to target vacant buildings. If you have any information about these thefts, call the Dougherty County Police.
