Atlanta- One thing you don't want for Christmas, the flu. The first case this season has been confirmed in Georgia.
The Health Department says it's in northeast Georgia, in Clarke County. Doctors say holiday gatherings and travel often help spread the flu. Here in south Georgia, it's a little early to see flu cases, but it's not too late to protect yourself.
"This is typically the time, but you see more flu cases diagnosed around January and February," said Suzette Profit, Dougherty County Health Department Immunization Coordinator.
The Dougherty County Health Department has some flu vaccine still available. This year, the health department received 26,000 doses of flu vaccine.
