Meigs, Georgia-- Dozens of people in Meigs are calling for the mayor's resignation.

70 residents have signed a petition demanding Mayor Harold Cook step down immediately. They're questioning the future of the Meigs Police Department, whether city records have been kept appropriately, and the care of its cemetery.

The petition also calls for a special election for another mayor as soon as possible. Cook, however, says he has no plans to resign.
