Driver to face charges in I-75 accident

December 17, 2005

Cook County- Charges are pending for the driver who lost control on I-75 in Cook County and crashed into a tractor trailer, tearing her car to shreds.

Eighteen year old Jillian Leger's car was ripped apart, knocked off its frame and overturned on the side of the busy interstate Friday afternoon.

Surprisingly Leger, her passenger Sarah Brook, and the truck driver were not seriously hurt. Witnesses told the State Patrol Leger was heading northbound near the Tift County line when she lost control, traveled across the median, and struck the tractor trailer carrying Citric Acid.

HazMat crews were called and some of the roadside was damaged. Everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
