Atlanta - All interstates leading into the Atlanta area have reopened after patchy ice caused a treacherous rush hour.
Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Karlene Barron says workers are just battling traffic congestion now.
The department had skeleton crews putting down salt and gravel overnight but call in reinforcements after temperatures plunged below the freezing mark about 3:30 am today.
Ice formed on interstates, overpasses and bridges causing traffic to tie up and numerous accidents.
