December 15, 2005. Albany - Two big defensive standouts here in south Georgia have earned Associated Press Little All-American honors.
Albany State defensive end Alton Pettway and Valdosta State's Tim Thompson were both named to the second team of the A.P. Little All-American team which honors Division II and Divison III palyers.
Alton Pettway was the defensive player of the year in SIAC after leading the conference in quarterback sacks.
Tim Thompson led Valdosta State's defense in tackles this season and was a first team Gulf South Conference player for a third straight year.
Thompson has also been selected to play in the Cactus Bowl next month in Texas.
