Tifton- Douglas senator Greg Goggans pre-filed a bill that would add an agricultural license plate to the states list of other specialty and prestige plates. The proceeds would then go to the states 4-H and Future Farmers of America clubs.

"Obviously we know that our budget is tight, and through this people can show their support for agriculture, and at the same time we'll be able to have funds to teach our children more about agriculture and now important it is," Goggans says.

He says if it passed a bill though the senate, the money would go straight to the general fund. Then there would have to be a provision for the funds to go to the agricultural programs. That's why Goggans says wants to make it a constitutional referendum and let voters decide on it in November.
