Moultrie -- The first woman elected to the Colquitt County Board of Commissioners has died.

Seventy-year-old Merle C. Hall died unexpectedly yesterday at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Hall, who represented district six, was elected to the county commission in 1981.

Her funeral is tomorrow at Hopewell Baptist Church.

A special election will be held in March to fill her District six seat.
