Ballet Theatre South holds Tea for Tutus

December 11, 2005

Albany-- A local non-profit dance organization kicked off their upcoming production over holiday tea and fun.

Ballet Theatre South hosted it's annual Tea For Tutus at the Shackleford House. Children sat around for Christmas stories and visited with Santa Claus. Cast members of the upcoming "Aladdin" production put on dance numbers. Ballet Theatre South was founded 3 years ago and gives children of many ages a chance to explore classical ballet.

"We're a non-profit regional ballet company that was to bring the beauty of dance to Southwest Georgia," says Chairman of the Board Joy Pilcher.

"I've built many strong friendships with the company and it just really helps me," says dancer Kimberly Scott.

Abused and neglected children from The Bridge attended the event free of charge. You can see Ballet Theatre South's production of "Aladdin" at the Albany Municipal Auditorium the second weekend in February.
