ASU grads fill the civic center

December 10, 2005

Albany-- Albany State University graduated it's first class under it's new president.

Hundreds of Albany State University students filled the Civic Center Saturday for the 2005 Fall Commencement. New ASU President Dr. Everette Freeman gave opening remarks before the more than 300 students made their trek across the stage to receive degrees. There were big smiles from graduates after what they call a long road.

"It feels great. It's a long time coming I'm telling you," says graduate Telisa Herring.

"The friends and the instructors have been wonderful and I can't help but give back to the school," says graduate Azik Graham.

Dr. Herbert Smith, owner of two global consulting companies gave the commencement address to the graduates.
