Albany -- Albany's city manager tells the civic center director to resign, retire, or get fired.

In a recent job appraisal, City Manager Alfred Lott gave Director Mattie Goddard an ineffective score in all categories, from managing people to competence.

Goddard attorney Maurice King said Lott told his client she must either resign or retire, or get fired.

Lott had previously told Goddard she must improve her performance and business at the Civic Center or face termination.

Goddard's attorney told WALB News Ten today that if the city fires Goddard, she will sue. He says Goddard has never even received an verbal warning about her performance before the Lott took over in September.
