Americus - An Americus man is charged in a counterfeit ring in Americus.

Twenty-six year-old Frederick Jeron Banks is charged with forgery and possession of marijuana.  Americus Police say counterfeit bills are being passed around town and merchants need to be on the lookout.

"Pay attention and try to get a good description of who is passing the money, or in this case if you are able to obtain a tag number or a vehicle description get it to us as quick as you can," said Americus Police Lieutenant Richard McCorkle.

Banks was in a vehicle that had been stolen in Louisiana. Police also arrested 22-year-old Bianca Williams and charged her with recieving stolen property. She recently relocated to Americus from the New Orleans area.
