Bainbridge, Georgia-- A five year old child is recovering from injuries suffered when she was hit by a van in Decatur County.

It happened Tuesday night when the girl and several friends were walking home on West Street in Bainbridge. Police say it seems she didn't look before stepping into the road, and was hit by the van. When paramedics arrived, its wheel was resting on the girl's leg.

Fortunately, she is expected to make a full recovery.
