Tifton- Former president Mike Vollmer stepped down last September and interim president Tom Call has filled the seat since then.

University System Interim Chancellor Corlis Cummings visited the on campus Wednesday to give the presidential search and advisory committee the go ahead to recruit and weed out candidates.

"ABAC is a growing institution, highest enrollment ever, so I think that in terms of candidates looking at this institution, they're going to be very excited about having the opportunity to come here and lead it," says Cummings.

Cummings says the search usually takes between 10 and 16 weeks. Once the committee identifies finalist the list will be sent to the board of regents for final approval of a new president.
