Valdosta - Voters can cast their ballots early in run off elections across South Georgia this week. But in Lowndes County, not many people are taking advantage of the opportunity.

As of noon Monday, only six people had voted. One run off election is on the ballot, city council District Four seat between incumbent J.R. Sessions and Alvin Payton.

Workers at the Board of Elections say a low turnout is typical for a run off election. "Typically, a runoff will be about three percent, its only one office, one small segment of Valdosta, City Council District Four, so this is about normal," said Deb Cox.

You can vote early from 7:00 in the morning until 7 p.m. through Friday.
