Valdosta - You can give blood while supporting your favorite football team this week.

The American Red Cross is sponsoring its annual donor bowl between the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Florida. They're hoping a little friendly football rivalry will help boost the critical blood supply.

Right now, there's about a two day supply of most blood types, but that will likely decrease as we near the holidays. "It is a continuous need and especially with more traffic and more people on the roads during the holidays, we need more people to come out and donate blood to supply the need for blood as it arises," said Robbin Miller.

The donor bowl continues through Saturday. All donors will get a free donor bowl t-shirt.
