Albany- Over the next week, the Medicare Bus will tour southwest Georgia signing up beneficiaries for the new prescription drug plan.
The Medicare Bus will make several stops in the Second Congressional District with representatives from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Georgia Cares. It's a chance to sit down one on one with a counselor and find out what plan best suits you.
All you need to bring is your Medicare cards, and a list of your prescriptions.
"They can bring their prescription drugs and Medicare card, and a list of prescriptions, and feed that information into the database and come out with what will be most appropriate, so they'll have at least three choices," said Rep. Sanford Bishop, (D) Georgia.
A complete list of stops follows, on Monday, November 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the bus will stop at Albany Technical College in Albany. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. the bus will be at Moultrie Technical College. On Wednesday, the first stop from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. is Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. the bus will be at Valdosta State University. On Thursday, the bus will arrive at 9:00 a.m. at the AGRI Center Fairgrounds in Bainbridge and will park until noon. Thursday afternoon the bus will be in Cairo from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 pm. at the AGRI Center Farmers Market.
