ATLANTA (AP) -- Ronnye Nelson threw for 150 yards, ran for one-hundred more and scored three rushing touchdowns to lead Dougherty to a 30-14 victory over Shaw in Saturday's Class AAA state semifinals.
The Trojans (13-1) will face Peach County (who beat LaGrange 35-17) next week in the title game.
After the Raiders (12-2) took a 14-7 lead in the second quarter, Dougherty tied the game when Nelson broke for a 20-yard scoring run.
On a replay, Nelson's knee appeared to touch the ground after he was tossed to the ground by a Shaw defender, but the play still stood.
From that point on, Shaw couldn't find its rhythm on both sides of the ball, going scoreless in the second half.
Nelson, who completed 8 of 13 passes and had 14 carries, scored on a 26-yard run just before halftime.
He added a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Xavier Cheevers ran for 91 yards on 19 carries, including a four-yard touchdown in the first half for Dougherty.
Michael Nelson caught three passes for 50 yards.
Arsenio Williams finished with 41 yards rushing on eight carries in the loss.
