Albany- Long lines at check outs are a welcome sight to south Georgia retailers. The holiday shopping season is in full swing. Many shoppers were in the stores early this weekend looking for that extra bargain.

Retailers like Circuit City say deeper discounts have brought shoppers out in search of a bargain.

"Had an awesome day Friday. We did about ten percent more than we did last year same day, so just had a terrific day after Thanksgiving," said Michael Bruner, Circuit City Store Director.

Electronics are a popular gift this holiday season. The most sought after gifts are I-pods and the new XBox 360. Movies round out the top three most popular item.
