Albany soldier enjoys Thanksgiving at home

November 25, 2005

Albany -- A South Georgia soldier enjoys the Thanksgiving holiday at home, before he leaves for his second tour of duty in Iraq.

Marcellus Mullins of Albany is spending Thanksgiving with his family, including his wife and daughter.

A Sergeant with the United States Army's Fourth Infantry Division, Mullins spent most of 2003 in Iraq. He leaves Sunday, and is scheduled to arrive in Iraq December Ninth for another year of duty.

Mullins said that's why this Holiday at home is special. Sgt. Marcellus Mullins said "Sometimes I do miss home. So being home for Thanksgiving, nobody can cook turkey like my Momma, so them allowing us to come home for Thanksgiving, I'm really glad about being home."

Mullins says because he knows what to expect in Iraq, he is not worried about returning. His family says they will be praying for him, so they also feel confident about his service.
