Phoenix -- The plane ride back from Phoenix will be a quiet one for the Darton College women's soccer team, as the Lady Cav's suffered their first loss of the season 2-1 to Monroe CC in the NJCAA Division I National Championship game.
BreeAna Dove scored the lone goal for Darton, and was named the offensive player of the tournament.
Naomi Clarke and Rachel McLoughlin were also selected to the all-tournament team.
Darton finishes its record-setting season with a 25-1 record, easily the best in school history.
The program was started just six years ago by head coach Ken Veilands.
This season, Darton won its first region championship, was ranked number one for the first time ever, appeared in its first national tournament, and set a national record with 25 straight wins.
