Albany- Checking your credit is easy, and you should do it at least twice a year. The new Fair Credit Reporting Act requires each of the three nationwide consumer companies to provide you with a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months.

To get the report you'll need to provide your name, address, social security number and date of birth. You can apply report online, by phone, or by mail by using the following contacts.
