Albany - The play of offensive specialist Antwone Savage was about the only thing speical in the South Georgia Wildcats first season in Albany.
The problem was that Savage's rookie season in the AF2 was so good he was expected to sign with an AFL team.
Unfortunately for Antwone and fortunately for the Wildcats that didn't happen.
So, the Wildcats leading receiver from last season will be back for in 2006.
It is a big boost for a Wildcat team looking to improve on last year's 3-13 record.
And Antwone Savage is vowing to do his part to get the Cats back into the arena two playoffs which just may get Antwone Savage into the arena one league.
Savage said "I had an okay season but this year I am looking to explode in the AF2 so that everybody in the AF- one will notice me. That is my goal and to help turn this team around."
The Wildcats hope former Albany State receiver Alvin Ray Jackson will be another weapon in their passing attack next season. Jackson is one of five former Rams who have signed with the Wildcats. One player who will not be back is quarterback Brian Zbyniewski.. Zeb is expected to sign with the expansion Spokane Shock who will be coached by Chris Siegfried.
