Albany--The lack of rain this fall has increased outside water usage. Albany Water Gas and Light officials want to remind you that statewide non-drought water restrictions are still in place.

The restrictions are as follows: Odd addresses can water Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Even addresses can water Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. there is to be no watering on Friday's.

"There are no hour restrictions, you just really need to adhere to those days, and even with new plantings, planting every other day will certainly be enough to suffice your new plantings" said Lorie Farkas with Albany Water Gas and Light.

Most counties follow the state recommended water restrictions every other day, but you should check with your water company to find out exactly what the rules are where you live. Businesses that use water for commercial use such as carwashes and pressure washers remain exempt from the rules.
