Albany - Charles Boone of Albany was presented with a Combat Action Ribbon and Certificate of Special Recognition Monday by Congressman Sanford Bishop. Boone was severely wounded by Shrapnel while serving as a squad leader in Vietnam in 1966.

He says he is thankful that more veterans like him, are now getting the recognition they deserve. Boone says, "Veterans are the reason behind this great country is free. And they should respect veterans."

Congressman Bishop said an injustice was done by Boone not being honored sooner, and he hopes servicemen and women will not be slighted again.
