Budget hearings kick off

November 14, 2005

Thomasville, Georgia--  Hearings to tweak Thomas County's budget are getting underway.

Millions of dollars in departmental requests have been trimmed to about $472,000. Computer upgrades and operating systems make up most of that. Requests for vehicles and heavy equipment have been cut.

County Manager Mike Stephenson says department requests exceed revenue expectations by more than four-point-six million dollars.
