Leesburg -- The trial of a former Lee County Deputy charged in the shooting death of a teenager is postponed.

On Friday, November 11th, Donnie Spillers was granted a continuance by the Judge in his case in Lee County Superior Court.

Spillers faces two felony and two misdemeanor charges in the February shooting death of 17-year-old Wesley Beaver.

Spillers stopped Beaver as a burglary suspect, and shot him in the head. Prosecutors say he put his knife in the truck, and lied about how it got there.

Lee County's next scheduled superior court session is in Spring 2006.
