Albany-- The Parks at Chehaw are getting a lot of attention from out of town visitors and park officials say South Georgians should do the same.
It was a busy weekend at the Park. The camping area is full of RV's from the Peach State Campers. Cub scout packs from Tallahassee, Florida also picked Chehaw for a weekend trip. They've been here since Thursday. Park officials say because of the many things Chehaw has to offer, it's getting national attention and many South Georgians may not realize what they have in their own backyard.
"We've got a huge group of scouts that came in from Florida where they have a lot more camp grounds than we do up here in Georgia and yet they're up here enjoying our campgrounds," says Natural Resources Manager Ben Kirkland.
"Got the BMX track for the kids, the zoo. They're all having a great time eating a lot of food and we're spending a lot of time keeping them busy," says Cub Scout Pack 25 Den Leader Melissa Meadows.
The cub scouts will be in Albany through Sunday. They say they love the scenery and weather of South Georgia.
