Lowndes County - A routine traffic stop turned into a high speed chase and big drug bust for Lowndes County deputies.

A deputy pulled over 32-year-old Monica Young near Exit 16 Wednesday afternoon for a window tint violation.

When he went to get his dog to help search her car, she took off. Deputies chased her at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour and finally blocked her in about four miles later. They recovered three pounds of marijuana and half a kilo of cocaine.

Young and her passenger, 27-year-old Nakita McFolley, are in the Lowndes County Jail charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, obstruction of an officer, and a number of traffic violations.
