Albany -- A 17 year old Albany teen went on trial Monday for the rape of a 9 year old child.
Roosevelt Washington is charged with rape, kidnapping, and four other sex and child molestation charges. Washington could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted.
Prosecutors say in July 2003, when he was only 15 years old, Washington jumped the nine year old in an alley, drug her to a wooded area and raped her.
The victim testified Monday afternoon. The trial is expected to go to the jury Tuesday.
