Cordele- Southwest Georgia prepares to honor veterans this week. This week is National Veterans Awareness Week culminating with Veterans Day on Friday.

There will be a number of events throughout the week including a program at Crisp Academy on Tursday at 9 a.m featuring music and a ceremony to remember veterans Living and deceased. In Vienna, Dooley County they will honor veterans on Thursday at 10 a.m. in front of the courthouse.

The week will end Saturday at 3 p.m. with the dedication of a Veterans memorial in Georgia Veterans State Park in Cordele. There a monument will be dedicated to all veterans.
