Albany- Teachers aren't the only ones concerned about the state's new health care provider. Lt. Governor Mark Taylor criticized the plan Wednesday night.
Thursday, Albany State Senator Michael Meyer von Bremen said he's concerned because United HealthCare must appear at a hearing to explain why it didn't process tens of thousands of claims within the state's required 15 day limit.
"If you are a policy holder and your claim does not get processed in time, you're going to get the bill from the medical provider because they provided services to you and suddenly you're going to start facing bill collection efforts," said Meyer von Bremen.
He wants the state to extend the deadline for state employees to register for the health care benefit program.
