Albany - It is a big weekend for football and a big weekend for golf here in Albany.
LPGA Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez hosting her 20th annual Hospice Golf tournament.
When she first started this fundraiser two decades ago, the field had just 40 players.
This year, there were 40, four-man teams playing in two flights as Nancy Lopez continues her efforts to help terminally ill patients and their family.
The next step for Albany Hospice is to build a 16 room free standing Hospice facility where terminally patients can spend their final days in more of home atmosphere and not feel like they are in a hospital. here for the peopl that are passing away but also the families.
Nancy Lopez said "Hospice is not just there for the people who are passing away but also their families. They really helped Ray's family when his mom and dad passed away. They were there to hold their hand, get medication and take alot of stress off them. Because it is very hard when you love somebody very much and you know they are not going to be there much longer."
Joining Nancy at her annual Hospice Tournament today were fellow LPGA pros Nanci Bowen and Kim Bauer.
