Clinch County - A South Georgia man was killed Wednesday afternoon when his truck collided with a train.

Thirty-year-old Jedson Smith of Fargo was driving a log truck down McGarrity Bay Road in Clinch County when he ran in front of a train. State troopers say it appeared he tried to stop the truck before he got to the tracks, but couldn't stop in time.

There was no stop sign at the crossing, but there were cross bucks.
