Albany- Sixty members of the 542nd Medical Company from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, stopped at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport to refuel.

The medics are taking their aircraft and equipment to Jacksonville where it will be shipped to Iraq. They'll meet up with the aircraft toward the end of November.

"When we get there we'll take over medi-vac coverage for certain areas that the troops are operating. We'll pick up soldiers when they get injured and take them to the nearest treatment facility. We'll treat them in route because we have medics in the back that can work on the patients as well," says Captain Jennifer Mitchell.

The medics are expected to be in Iraq for at least a year.
