Thomasville, Georgia-- A national company based in Thomasville is expanding.
Flowers Foods has bought property in Newton, North Carolina. It's renovating an existing building to use as another bakery. The new facility is expected to open mid next year. A second production line will be added later.
Flowers officials say they're planning to invest 40-million dollars in the bakery over the next three years.
The company runs 35 other bakeries across the country.
