Americus - Georgia Southwestern coach Barry Kaplan knew his men's and women's soccer programs would have to grow in steps.
The good news for Kaplan is that his men's team has taken a very big step in only their second season.
That big step being taken byGeorgia Southwestern is earning a berth in the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament in just their second season.
The Hurricanes got in thanks to Brewton-Parker who beat Southern Wesleyan over the weekend creating a three way tie for the final two of the six available berths.
The Hurricanes won the tiebreaker and are off to play at Southern Weseleyan in the first round on Tuesday night.
Head coach Barry Kaplan said "The fact that we not only got into the tournament but we ended up the fifth seed out of six teams is really, really huge for us."
