Coolidge, Georgia-- For the second time this week, a law enforcement officer in Thomas County is in trouble.

Coolidge Police Officer, Walker Conley, was arrested Friday morning and charged with violation of oath of office and theft by taking. Chief James Wright says he's accused of failing to turn in property taken from someone he arrested.

Conley has been suspended, and the GBI is now handling the investigation. Wright says he will not tolerate anything but top-notch officers.

Earlier this week, Thomas County Jailer, Beverly Simmons, was arrested for having sex with an inmate. She's charged with violation of oath of office and sexual assault on a person in custody.
